  • Then, in August, Jagapathi Babu became a part of the team, and he's playing a character named Rajamanaar.
  • By October 2021, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran was in discussions to play a significant role.
  • In March 2022, Prabhas made it clear that Prithviraj was officially part of Salaar during a promotional event for his film Radhe Shyam.
  • Later, in June, Prithviraj confirmed that he liked the script and was working on his schedule to be in the film.
  • Finally, in October 2022, it was confirmed that Prithviraj was indeed part of the movie. This marks his return to Telugu cinema after 12 years, with his last appearance being in "Police Police" in 2010.
  • Sriya Reddy also secured a significant role in the film.

They started shooting the movie in January 2021, near a place called Godavarikhani in Telangana. Ravi Basrur made the music for it, and Bhuvan Gowda handled the camera work.

Originally, they planned to show it in theaters all around the world on September 28, 2023, but they decided to wait a bit and release it on December 22, 2023, which is the same day as another movie called "Dunk.

Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire Filming:-

The cameras started rolling for the film on January 29, 2021, in the coal mines near the city of Godavarikhani, Telangana. They finished up the first part of the shoot by February 2021. The second round of filming began in Hyderabad in August 2021.

By March 2022, they had completed about 30% of the shooting. However, they had to take a break because Prabhas' movie "Radhe Shyam" (2022) and Prashanth Neel's "K.G.F: Chapter 2" (2022) were releasing, and they planned to resume filming in May.Unfortunately, in March, while on vacation in Spain, Prabhas injured his knee, which caused another delay in filming.

In June 2022, they started a new filming schedule at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City, with both Prabhas and Shruti Haasan returning to the sets. Interestingly, the team also filmed a 20-minute-long action sequence in the middle of the sea, spending around ₹10 crore on that scene. The creators of Salaar reportedly used a technology called Dark Centric Theme (DCT) for filming, making it the first Indian film to do so. This gave the movie a darker lighting pattern and color palette.
