"Tiger Zinda Hai" is a thrilling Indian movie from 2017. It's a follow-up to "Ek Tha Tiger" and is part of the YRF Spy Universe. The film, directed and written by Ali Abbas Zafar, tells the story of Tiger and Zoya, who come out of hiding to rescue nurses taken captive by a terrorist group named ISC in Iraq. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprise their roles from the first movie.
The idea for the sequel came after the success of "Ek Tha Tiger," but it faced delays when the original director, Kabir Khan, declined to return. Ali Abbas Zafar took over as the writer and director. The plot is inspired by the real-life 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by ISIL. Filming took place in various locations, including Abu Dhabi, Austria, Greece, and Morocco, making it one of the most expensive Hindi films at the time, with a budget of ₹120−130 crore.
"Tiger Zinda Hai" was released globally by Yash Raj Films on December 22, 2017.
Tiger Zinda Hai Story :-
In November 2017, eight years after the events of Ek Tha Tiger, an American journalist is killed by the ISC, a terrorist organization, in Iraq. The journalist was trying to share their recent activities with the CIA. In Ikrit, during a rally, the leader of ISC, Abu Usman, is shot by the Iraqi Army. They rush him to a local hospital, which also trains Indian and Pakistani nurses.
Usman, worried about his safety, increases the ISC presence around him. This alarms the CIA, leading them to plan an airstrike on the hospital. In the midst of this, Maria, an Indian nurse, secretly contacts the Indian Ambassador in Iraq. She informs him that Indian and Pakistani nurses are being held hostage. The CIA informs RAW chief Shenoy that he has seven days to rescue the nurses before the airstrike is launched.

- Salman Khan takes on the role of Avinash, codenamed "Tiger," a former RAW agent who's keeping a low profile with his wife, Zoya, played by Katrina Kaif. Zoya herself is an undercover ISI agent, and together, they're in hiding.
- Sajjad Delafrooz portrays Abu Usman, the formidable leader of ISC, an Iraqi terrorist group causing trouble. Girish Karnad embodies Ajit Shenoy, the head honcho at RAW, the intelligence agency.
- Paresh Rawal steps into the character of Firdaus, an undercover RAW agent from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He's deep undercover, posing as an ISC sympathizer named Tohbaan. Kumud Mishra brings life to Subedar Rakesh Prasad Chaurasia, a tech-savvy hacker working for RAW.
- Angad Bedi plays Captain Namit Khanna, a RAW agent skilled in bomb disposal. Paresh Pahuja is Maj. Azaan Akbar, a sharpshooter from the Ghatak Force working for RAW. Anant Vidhaat Sharma appears as Karan Rao, Shenoy's right-hand man in RAW.
- Gavie Chahal takes on the role of Captain Abrar, an ISI agent, and Danish Bhatt plays Captain Javed, another ISI agent.
- Anupriya Goenka plays Poorna, one of the nurses held hostage, while Neha Hinge portrays Maria, another nurse caught in the dangerous situation.

The cameras rolled in some amazing places for this film — Abu Dhabi, Austria, Greece, and Morocco. But wait, there's a special touch to the movie's finale. The last song was filmed on the stunning Aegean island of Naxos, Greece, back in October 2017.
Now, here's an interesting casting tidbit. They brought in Iranian actor Sajjad Delafrooz to step into the shoes of Abu Usman, the head honcho of the terrorist group ISC. Sajjad isn't new to the Hindi film scene; you might remember him from the 2015 movie "Baby." His talent adds an extra layer of intensity to the character.

The movie's trailer hit screens on November 6, 2017, and it didn't just make waves — it set some serious records. In just 24 hours, it became a YouTube sensation, racking up over 29 million views, 480 thousand likes, and 250 thousand shares. By November 11, it claimed the title of the most liked film trailer on YouTube, outshining even Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But, like in the movies, records are made to be broken, and Avengers: Infinity War swooped in later with about 2 million likes.
The big day finally arrived on December 22, 2017, when "Tiger Zinda Hai" hit screens worldwide with a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. But the journey wasn't without its bumps. Despite featuring a song by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, the film didn't get the green light from the Central Board of Film Censors in Pakistan. They cited concerns about the image of Pakistan and its law enforcement agencies being compromised, echoing a similar situation with "Ek Tha Tiger."
Controversy knocked on the movie's door during its release. Salman Khan's alleged casteist remark during a dance show stirred up protests from the Valmiki community. They took legal action against both Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty, who joined in the comment, claiming that their sentiments were hurt. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena also raised its voice, unsuccessfully urging Mumbai multiplexes to give more screens to the Marathi film "Deva" instead of "Tiger Zinda Hai." They were concerned about Marathi films losing screens to Hindi releases. The movie, like any good thriller, faced its share of dramatic moments both on and off the screen.
